Seydisfjordur

Seydisfjordur (Seyðisfjörður) was a unique stop on our 2019 visit to Iceland. A detour off the ring road, the town is the terminal point for the ferry that links Iceland to the European continent via the Faroe Islands to Denmark. A really scenic town in the east fjord-lands, Seydisfjordur is found nestled in a spectacular valley following an exciting 27km drive from Egilsstadir (Egilsstaðir).

We only had one night here, and it wasn’t enough. With the drive in and out, our time was limited, and an extra night would’ve provided more chance to explore the fjord-lands. We are thinking that a future trip to Iceland might involve taking the ferry in one direction, giving us a chance to visit the Faroe Islands. If so, we would ensure a couple of nights here to explore further.

The original image had a couple of distractions in it that I had been wanting to delete. Content Aware Fill in Photoshop was doing a decent job, but I have found the power and ease of Generative AI in the current Photoshop Beta has been the answer to realistic distraction deletion. So I’ve used a touch of GenAI to take out some vehicles in the background, a person and some rubbish on the ground. Everything else is as it was.
